Notes

This volume finishes a period in my life. I would spend next six months abroad, in Paris (September 1998 - February 1999), without any instruments. The music created so far weaved into fabric of memories, which was held together by delicate electromagnetic processes. All of the tracks were recorded straight to tape without overdubs or retakes, and I never looked back or checked out what I had just done.

I could hardly recall any of the tracks I had done. Only a few years back I begun to collect the material together, and sequence it according to my memory, timestamps or notes written on the labels. It is this voyage that is presented here in its entirety. Nothing is left out, and an effort has been made to master the material so that its sonic essence is restored.

This volume is compiled from two cassettes. The last one was originally from the 80s, noisy and unpredictable. The music pushes itself through the medium, the cassette and the creator, leaving its mark to the ultimately weightless reality. The delicacy and the sense of danger together carried the sensitive me to untravelled soundscapes... Something that has been lost, and still so clearly in display; a souvenir from or a snapshot of much larger, timeless space.

I don't think I have been able to get as beautiful sounds out of ESQ-1 as the vocal like pads in the end of Tomu (Dust). Viima (Strong chilly wind) is direct continuation from that setting, and the whole cassette was probably filled in two sessions (A&B side).

The trip has been very personal; only my friends have had a chance to witness my creations. Now it's your turn too, dear listener, stay tuned.

Compilated from the sessions Nokikolari and Saareke.

Subject: This is going to keep my ears busy for a while
This is amazing music! It's rare that I hear something that makes me stop in my tracks and sends shivers through me. I'm listening to manalan at the moment ....long pause to listen.... and now omakotitalon, I haven't heard something as good as this for a long time and I'm looking forward to listening to more. Thank you for sharing your music, and in a lossless format! Somebody needs to write a better review for this, but since no one has, here's the first one. !(highest rating)!
